Stroke (outline) objects on a layer – You can use the Stroke command to automatically trace a colored outline around a selection or the content of a layer. To add an outline to the background, you must first convert it to a regular layer. The background contains no transparent pixels, so the entire layer is outlined.
Select the area in the image or a layer in the Layers panel. Choose Edit > Stroke (Outline) Selection. In the Stroke dialog box, set any of the following options, and then click OK to add the outline: Specifies the width of the hard-edged outline. Values can range from 1 to 250 pixels. Sets the color of the outline. Click the color swatch to select a color in the Color Picker. Specifies whether to place the outline inside, outside, or centered over the selection or layer boundaries. Specifies how the paint that you apply blends with the existing pixels in the image. Sets the opacity of the paint you apply. Enter an opacity value or click on the arrow and drag the slider. Strokes only areas containing opaque pixels on a layer. If your image has no transparency, this option isn’t available.

- Press Shift-X and the fill color and stroke color will swap places.
The comma key (,) applies the default solid color (displayed in the Control panel and Tools panel) to the fill/stroke. The period key (.) applies the default gradient to the fill/ stroke. The forward slash key (/) sets the current fill/stroke to None. These shortcuts work in Illustrator, as well.
How do you show a stroke?
A brain CT scan can show if there is bleeding in the brain or damage to the brain cells from a stroke. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) uses magnets and radio waves to create pictures of your brain. An MRI may be used instead of—or in addition to—a CT scan to diagnose a stroke.
What method is used for stroke?
Treating an ischemic stroke – Treatment for an ischemic stroke or transient ischemic (TIA) may include medicines and medical procedures. Medicines The main treatment for an ischemic stroke is a medicine called tissue plasminogen activator (tPA). It breaks up the blood clots that block blood flow to your brain.
- A doctor will inject tPA into a vein in your arm.
- This type of medicine must be given within 3 hours after your symptoms start.
- In some cases, it is given up to 4.5 hours.
- The sooner treatment begins, the better your chances of recovery.
- If you cannot have tPA, your doctor may give an anticoagulant or blood thinning medicine, such as aspirin or clopidrogrel.
This helps stop blood clots from forming or getting larger. The main side effect of these medicines is bleeding. Medical procedures You may need a procedure to open up blocked arteries and restore blood flow to the brain. This can be done several ways. A thrombectomy removes the clot from the blood vessel.
Angioplasty and stenting procedures use a thin tube to deliver a balloon or small mesh tube into the artery. Inflating the balloon or expanding the mesh tube clears space for blood to flow more easily to the brain. The stent retriever is a wire mesh inside the catheter that traps the clot. The stent retriever and the blood clot are then pulled out through the tube.
If carotid artery disease caused your stroke, your doctor may suggest carotid endarterectomy, a surgery to remove plaque from the carotid artery in your neck.
